Ukraine conflict: British man Scott Sibley killed

  1. He’s not more important than anyone else killed in senseless violence. But he is a human face with a name. It’s easier to be sad about him than it is to imagine the personhood of all those people who are now just body counts, or bylines about mass graves. He cared about those people, that was part of his humanity. We should too.

  2. Man went to join a just war because his morals guided him to. He didn’t have to. Remember that Russia were meant to roll over Ukraine in a day or two, and the contribution of people like this fella won’t be forgotten quickly.

  3. Once again this sub shits on someone actually doing something, and getting of their arse to fight against evil.

A Hamas suicide bomber would get more respect on Reddit than this guy.

    Just terribly sad.

  4. I’m not really one to gush over soldiers being heroes, but to go over there entirely voluntarily, to defend a democratic country against its much larger facist neighbour… That’s something to admire.

  5. I’m sorry, but why didn’t he think about his family during this period of time. Didn’t he think that his family need and father and his wife needs a husband? So he went to Ukraine to fight Putin and what is his family supposed to do now?
