Today (September 15), Prince Harry celebrates his 41st birthday, but he once reportedly had to postpone party plans because of his sister-in-law, Kate Middleton.
This year, he is expected to spend the big day at home in Montecito, California, with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children, Archie and Lilibet, probably recovering from his action-packed week in Europe.
He arrived back in the US over the weekend, after visiting the UK and Ukraine.

Prince Harry ‘cancelled birthday plans’ because of Kate Middleton
Domestic goddess Meghan, 44, will no doubt be pulling out all the stops for her husband’s birthday celebrations.
But some years ago, Harry’s 30th birthday plans were reportedly cancelled as Princess Kate was ill.
Back when Harry was preparing to turn the big 3-0 in 2014, the duke had apparently made grand plans to mark the milestone occasion. He had reportedly been planning a huge dinner party at with the help of his brother, William, and Kate.
The now Prince and Princess of Wales had apparently arranged a family dinner for Harry, with their cousins, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, and other close pals in attendance.
However, reports claimed that the bash was cancelled at the last minute. Kate, pregnant with her daughter Princess Charlotte at the time, had been hit by severe morning sickness.

According to Vanity Fair‘s Katie Nicholl, a royal author, the party did end up going ahead, just at a later date. With Kate reportedly sick in bed, her sister, Pippa, apparently came to the rescue to ensure that the party went ahead. And by the sounds of things it was quite the occasion.
The prince apparently hosted 30 close friends at Clarence House, rather than Kensington Palace, as originally planned. His two favourite dishes – beef wellington and fish pie – and also his favourite dessert – Eton Mess – were on the menu.
Invitees reportedly included old school friends, Harry’s girlfriend at the time, Cressida Bonas, and even singer Ellie Goulding. The guests apparently dressed in all white, and were even treated to a ski-themed nightclub.
Even King Charles reportedly played his part, sending over bottles of Highgrove champagne and Claret.
Royal Insider contacted reps for Harry for comment.
Prince Harry on turning 40
When quizzed about last year’s milestone birthday, Prince Harry said that he felt “excited” to enter a new decade.
“I was anxious about 30, I’m excited about 40,” he told the BBC in an interview.
Whatever the age, my mission is to continue showing up and doing good in the world.
He went on admirably: “Whatever the age, my mission is to continue showing up and doing good in the world.”
Harry continued to explain how having children had changed his perspective on life and growing older.
