We can’t sleepwalk back into the kind of politics that thrived in the 70s and 80s. Once fear and division get normalised, they spread fast – and history has already shown us the damage that does.

I for one am happy that our UK freedom of speech allowed the hate march on Saturday to go ahead and embarrass themselves
If we suppressed the hate it would only have emboldened them
The pictures of piss and shit in the streets will forever be associated with Tommy
It’ll happen every time the economy is shit, just like it was in the 70s and 80s. So long as we as a society peg our collective happiness and wellbeing to economic success
Luckily the marchers didn’t bring effigies, drums, or anything else “cool” that might have inspired more people to join them next time, other than a few flares and some AI generated flags with bulldogs on
Can we urge him to manage the phone robberies, watch robberies, and just general day-to-day crime in his city and travel network also, perchance?
The 70s and 80s were a warning, not a template. London’s strength lies in its diversity, and it’s everyone’s responsibility to protect that from being eroded by hate.
Not sure calling them names is going to work anymore, feel that far right and Nazi has been used so much the last 10 years that’s it’s lost all meaning at this point.
I’m an Italian (living in Italy), particulary passionate about your magnificent city. Coincidentally I was in London last weekend, in one of my many trips there. I always looked up to London as a place of inclusion, possibilities, diversity. To me, London has always been the place where everyone can feel at home, and I still see it that way. As an Italian, I also understand very well the struggle of living in a place tainted by the rising of far-right fascism, racism and disciminatory intent, as we too are experiencing that here sadly. I hope we will be able to overcome all of this and let it fall down into the oblivion it’s supposed to be. As of me, I’ll keep trying to be the best person I can to fight all of this, and I’ll keep coming to London to find everything I’ve always found, a place to feel home, a place to feel alive.
The funny thing is, all the types who used to revel in an anti race riot have grown up, started businesses and families and want to chill on the weekends.
They really don’t care about tommeh and it’s best if it stays that way.

Only person standing up against them, the rest of the labour party have rolled over

Behold.
The master race.

Except many people at that protest were not far right. There were families from all different ethnic backgrounds who are tired of what has happened to this country. People are protesting because they are desperate and tired of the state of the U.K., and they may be turning to protests led by those considered as far right, but it is ignorant to class everyone who attended as far right.
British people of all colours and backgrounds are tired of what has happened to the country they call home.
Honestly, the only thing that can stop the rise of the right at the moment is for Starmer and Reeves to resign and let a new Labour leadership run things for the next few years
I wish we could reclaim the flag! For our diverse community. Take it back from the racists!
These same politicians parrot about the flag being hijacked and that it needs to be taken back… Well, why don’t you just do a campaign and take it back then, put it up everywhere over London and change the meaning.
Instead they walk into the trap and tell the public they are far right and racist for putting up their own flag. It’s obviously the same tone deaf advisors walking them off the cliff.
It’s very upsetting to see hooligans in such a number. I hope Londers and the whole of Britain unite against these racists and may they never come to power.
All the other parties (wankers) want this to happen, it can be the only reason they’re so fucking useless.
We’re running straight into a Reform win and it’s going to be an absolute shit show.
According to the far right all of them would have been arrested for flying the flag but I guess once again reality is very far from their delusion.
I don’t like the man but he’s spot on with this.
If you keep classing normal people who are concerned about immigration levels as far right, you push them further away.
You can tackle the far right by tackling the boats.
No small small boats takes the wind from their sails.
But no. Let’s call them fascists and Nazis and keep the boats coming.
What could go wrong?
Okay guys, let’s unpack this = -)
Absolutely based statement.
Last week people were hating khan for posing with a slum landlord and who’s destroying a lot of the great venues in London, now they want his children.
