Sadly, these incidents have become daily news in Espoo. The city is not what it used to be in the early 2000s or even the 2010s.
But folks get what they vote for and ask for.
Emme ole Ruotsin tiellä vaan pikaohituskaistalla.
I wonder what people asked and voted for… Can’t ask that user because he has me blocked…
Edit: someone mentioned another recent “shooting” in Niittykumpu. That was a shooting by the police. Towards a man who was being violent towards the police but according to the reports hadn’t been violent towards others and the call had been made because of attempted suicide. https://yle.fi/a/74-20182746 But hey, he’s getting the upvotes so I guess misinformation wins.
Edit 2: someone came with an old paper on youth delinquents being more of foreign background and immigration increasing to “deduct” a conclusion (with a thrown in article about women victims that doesn’t fit any argument but I guess it mentions immigrants so…). But looking at total crime rates, they’re not following the same trends. https://www.statista.com/statistics/1239562/crime-rate-in-finland/
And looking at homicides (because we’re talking about news of shootings) they have been decreasing! https://yle.fi/a/74-20178903 Better not mention these things. We wouldn’t want a balanced and informed discussion.
I’m not arguing what it is nor what it’s not. We don’t even know what happened in this case nor who the people involved were. But a certain narrative formed in this thread.
I want more story, who,whom,why ☕️
I am sure it’s just a lone wolf and very separated case as always;)
