AKIPRESS.COM – In an interview with journalist Vyacheslav Abdusalamov, Uzbekistani wrestler Gulomjon Abdullaev explained his loss to Bekzat Almaz uulu in the semifinals of the World Wrestling Championships in Croatia.
The 57 kg freestyle wrestling match took place on September 14, with the Kyrgyz athlete winning 8-0.
“I think I couldn’t recover. I spent a lot of energy,” Abdullaev said. “We will work on endurance. Bekzat is a good opponent. I wrestled him at the Olympics. This time he got his revenge. I wish him a win in the finals. He has everything to win.”
Abdullaev and Almaz uulu previously competed for the bronze medal at the Paris Olympics, where the Uzbekistani athlete won and finished in third place.
