Donald Trump is a domestic terrorist.
I thought we left this boogeyman in 2020.
How is being antifascist a bad thing?
Who is antifa though? Who are their leaders? How does the government identify them? Does this mean the government will drone strike protests with alleged antifa “members?”
But not the actual group that stormed the capitol or the current groups calling for violence against the left. Got it…
The double standard is astounding and par for the course
Yeah, good luck raiding Antifa headquarters, seizing the Antifa corporate bank accounts and rounding up the Antifa leadership.
/s
More seriously though, if implemented it is just an end run around due process. *”We don’t like you, therefore you are a domestic terrorist and the normal rules do not apply.”*
For 6 years I’ve been trying to figure out what they actually want people to think Antifa is or what it means.
Its clearly just a boogieman term to them, but hes literally accusing “fascists” and “anti-fascists” in the same sentence of being on the same side against his side, which he claims is… “not fascist.”
It just gets dumber and fucking dumber and the dumb people keep getting more angry at how dumb they are and how dumb the arguments are that support their feelings, and keep being more dumb about dumb stuff.
(Wanted to see if I could match their toddler logic by using as few adjectives as possible)
Its dangerous to be right, when the government is wrong.
So how long until he declares democrats as a terrorist organization? Been seeing that pop up a lot on TikTok and it’s the craziest shit ever.
after 1500+ pardons of convicted Jan 6th domestic terrorists.
CNN should highlight what Trump says he has authority to do about terrorists. Trump justifies the extrajudicial bombing of boats off the coast of Venezuela by calling them “terrorists.” Trump justifies giving life sentences in foreign prisons to migrants without due process by calling them “terrorists.”
News outlets who give a voice to left-wing groups will be enabling terrorists. The Democratic Party will be designated a terrorist organization by the midterms.
Um, so everyone at the No Kings protests was antifa?
ANTIFA isn’t a tangible thing, which means they will just label anyone calling Trump ANTIFA. Also, last I checked, ALL Americans are anti-fascist by default. Not that the Right has appreciated this irony.
And the Proud Boys are….what exactly? Seems like going after political opponents.
What incidences of violence is antifa responsible for?
So far the fascists have killed a bunch of cops on January 6, hit a girl with a car in Charlottesville, attempted to kidnap the Governor of Michigan, hit Paul Pelosi with a hammer, tried to burn down Governor Shapiro’s house, shot and killed two lawmakers in Minnesota.
Then you have white supremacists mass shooting in Buffalo and Jacksonville FL killing dozens of people.
Not to mention going back into history a bit, threatening and bombing abortion clinics, the Oklahoma City bomber, all the KKK activities through our American history.
I mean this is not even close.
Someone is going to mention the Scales shooting, so yeah that is one.
The US government calling antifa a terrorist group is saying the quiet part extremely loud. If you are against groups that are anit-fascist that makes you a fascist.
Donald Trump wants to kill half the country because we hurt his feelings when we called him out for being a child rapist.
He wants to start a civil war to keep his dirty laundry from becoming even more public than it already is.
And the Right called *us* Snowflakes. . .
“Being anti fascist is terrorism”? Seriously?
For the record, I am antifa.
There it is. This is the tie in to the passport revocation legislation before Congress that targets “material support” to “terrorist” organizations. It gives the Executive the ability to make the determination that a citizen is part of, or has provided material support to, a terrorist organization and revoke the right to travel based on – however they’re feeling that day.
If you’re part of a political organization that doesn’t have Trump’s blessing you’re going to be in a “terrorist organization”. And you will have your passport revoked for it.
If you have contributed money to BLM or other political groups that Trump does not like you’re going to be accused of giving “material support” to “terrorist” organizations. And you will have you passport revoked for it.
If you have an account on a web site that is run by any of these organizations you will be accused of either being part of, or giving “material support” to “terrorist” organizations. And you will have you passport revoked for it.
Here we go.
Anti-fascists are terrorists. Think about that.
There is no such thing as a left-wing group called Antifa.
Had to google antifa, but it’s literally just short for “anti-fascist.” How is that a bad thing?
Honestly, the right used to be so “pro-America,” anti communist, and all for democracy and freedom, but they have 100% lost the plot.
All I’ve done is work at my corporate BS job during Trumps failing economy, and somehow I’m getting deemed a domestic terrorist? This is absurd.
They want to create a climate where all of the institutions (public and private) functionally make it impossible to be a Democrat or left-leaning and have any prominent position (e.g., the Washington Post firing a columnist for daring to bring up Charlie Kirk’s past), or put anyone on the left under suspicion and looked at as a possible “threat” where you can exclude people based on their political leaning.
I want to be wrong about this. This is a slow-moving car wreck and I don’t get the feeling most people understand how bad this can be. As awful as these first 8 months have been, there are deeper levels of Hell.
Aren’t most people against facisim by default?
ANTIFA isn’t an organization, it’s a concept.
Do conservatives actually believe that ANTIFA has like meetings and a headquarters? 😂
Right wing loons live in bizzaro world; everything they accuse the left of, *they* are the ones actually doing it.
There is fucking nobody funding antifa, that’s not a fucking thing that happens. But someone absolutely *is* funding all these right wing orgs.
But not the people that LITERALLY STORMED THE CAPITAL?!
“”The key point the president has been making is **somebody is paying for all of this. This is not happening for free**, and so out of the president’s direction, the attorney general is going to find out who is paying for it…””
This rather illuminates the actions on the right. They can’t imagine that people stand up for their beliefs without getting paid.
There’s a reason we don’t have “domestic terrorism” as a legal category and this is precisely why.
It’s too easy to politicize.
Here we go.. this is exactly why the vague definition of ‘terrorist’, and the lifting of legal restrictions to combat terrorism, was always a problem.
My National Guard unit was deployed to Trump’s Jan. 6 riot. I got to see the real “domestic terrorists” up close. And it wasn’t fucking Antifa. Unbelievable.
As someone with antifa tattoos and flags because of my years in the underground punk scene, stemming back to 2001. I knew this was going to happen and I’m terrified of going to the camps… this isn’t good and I hope you guys fight like hell for us the way we’ve fought like hell for immigrant rights….
I legit can’t believe this shit.
Trump and most of his followers are exploiting Charlie Kirk’s death to justify their hatred and bigotry towards their perceived enemies.
The right frequently politicizes the deaths or traumatic experiences of victims to push narratives that stigmatize and vilify their political opponents.
All while they constantly overlook the fact that acts of domestic extremism and political violence are by and large committed by far right offenders.
They’re also ignoring the prevalence of right wing extremist groups, Christian Nationalists, white supremacists and alt right personalities and influencers who have normalized the use violence inciting rhetoric and conspiracy theories that fan the flames of division.
They have the audacity to suggest that they are mere bystanders, or even victims of a hostile political environment—when they are, in fact, its chief caretakers.
And now they’re using Kirk’s death as an excuse to escalate violence and ramp up their culture wars while they’re calling for swift and aggressive retribution against their political adversaries who they’ve instinctively blamed for the horrific actions of a single individual.
This is textbook fascism:
– Identification of enemies and scapegoats as a unifying cause.
– Vilifying “the other.”
– Exploiting events or deaths like Charlie Kirk’s to catalyze the authoritarian consolidation of power, mass arrests, censorship, suspension of civil liberties.
– “Law and order” rhetoric used to justify violence while being rife with dog whistles meant to inflame political and racial tensions.
– An obsession with crime and punishment that is now being reflected in the governments federalization of the military and local law enforcement to “crackdown” on dissidents, protestors, free speech.
– Invoking a sense of overwhelming crisis that cannot be resolved by any traditional solutions.
– Religion, government, and the ruling elite tied together after Kirk’s death has given rise to more Christian Nationalist messaging that depicts him as a “saint,” honors him as a religious symbol and martyr, and portrays his enemies as godless heathens who represent the damnable in a broader fight and “holy war” between the forces of good and evil.
– Casting “us” as victims of “them.”
– The belief that one’s group is a victim, and that this justifies any action, without legal or moral restraints, against it’s enemies.
– The “beauty of violence” when devoted to the group’s success.
– The right of the chosen people or the morally superior group to dominate others without limit.
– “Unreality,” or the use of conspiracy theories to deny facts and demonize “the other.”
– The supremacy of the military and avid militarism.
– Powerful expressions of nationalism that arouse feelings of superiority over others who are designated as not sufficiently patriotic or “un-American.”
The cognitive dissonance and hypocrisy of those on the right demanding a heavy handed and punitive response to Kirk’s death is just baffling.
Those claiming that this is, ironically, a “turning point” for this country, don’t recognize that we passed a point of no return some time ago.
This political climate and culture of division and radicalization has been made disproportionately worse by these self-righteous, right wing agitators and extremists.
America is about to see the darkest days its ever seen in its entire history. I don’t know what we can even do at this point, It feels like we won’t even make to midterms.
This is right out of the Nazi Germany playbook. This is how the Nazis consolidated power. They would cause problems, fix those said problems, and then blame the Communists for causing those problems. It all culminated when the Reichstag burnt down. They blamed it on the Communist party and then used it as an excuse to arrest the top officials and party members of that party. This is very dangerous. We are heading down a very dark and scary path right now.
Wild how a maga trump supporter kills another maga trump supporter and they use that to villainize the left. What a surprise.
