Hello,
I got insane bill from swk for heating + water which is more then 2200 euros to be paid.

I feel they have the meter readings wrong. I'm attaching the invoice, can someone please confirm if it's wrong.??

In the first page same meter readings is mentioned twice with same values but for different dates.

  1. Can you Show the first page?
The amount you actually have to pay is not on these.

  2. If you have insane hearing, it might actually be worth 2200

  3. The table stating the consumption for heating “Ihr Verbrauch – WÄRME” is not plausible. The sum seems to be double of the consumption. The reading period is divided into two timeframes – so far okay if underlaying prices change – but the starting counter is zero for each position. Starting counter for the second period has to be the end value of the first period and not zero imho.

Edit: What ist the number of flats in this building?

  4. Those seem to be the numbers for the entire complex hence the 3 different meter.
What is your consumption and what do you have to pay minus what you already paid for heating?

  5. This invoice is for the 3 Meters 26948020, 26948021, 26948022 but why exactly do you have 3 Meters? How many Square Meters does your place have and how many people live with you in the same building?

    Something doesn’t ad up.

  6. They put 2 times the same reading into the sheet and on both time set the previous value to 0.

For both calculation there should be an old reading, on the second reading it should start with the value of the first reading.

Basically they billed you the total amount of the consumption since the installment of the meter, twice.

It’s the most obvious wrong calcuation I’ve ever seen.

  7. Independent of all advice you already got: did you ever change your supplier? It seems you have the default supplier („Grundversorger“) which is always the most expensive one. You can easily change your supplier online and will get much better rates with minimal effort.

  8. I’m just a USA lurker, but it’s interesting to me that your ct/kWh is the same amount I pay as well after conversion from Euro to USD

    Edit: the arbeitpreis i mean

  9. oh, ok, the second duration meter readings are wrong, they are just the first readings again.

between 26.11 2024 and 31.12.2024 should be closer to 1/10 of what that says, almost halving your total energy used.

  10. You need to email them or better go to their nearest branch and ask why the meter reading is from 0 and why are they charging each meter reading twice

  11. Ok I saw below that all 3 meters actually belong to you.

But on the top of page 3 they list all 3 meters, first from January 1st until November 25th, and then again from November 26th to December 31st.

All of those readings start from 0; which is possible for the first 3 (assuming they were new meters), but the following set from November 26th should start with the closing balance of the first one (resulting in a reading of zero for those 3). Under those circumstance your bill should be exactly half.

I would however assume that you did use at least some hot water in December, which makes me think that the reading was completely erroneous, i.e. neither starting from absolute zero nor tallying up properly.

So either way you need to dispute it (in writing, and do that via registered letter -> Einwurfeinschreiben) within 14 days.
