I’m pretty sure this story from Sweden has no significant UK relevance despite being published by the Daily Mail.
That headline is dreadful. Anyway they could have just summarised the whole article as “there are adverse effects associated with hormone treatments and so it’s best to consider the risk and benefits of any treatment”.
It’s pretty similar to the “HRT causes cancer” histrionics of the past. Just more anti medicine claptrap.
Don’t like the Daily Mail and think therefore that anything in it can be dismissed out of hand? Then listen instead to this psychologist who works with gender-questioning teens and has the same concerns about the reckless overprescription of puberty blockers and cross sex hormones:
