Labour > Greens is definitely a growing trend in polling and if it holds up will be a big element in the fracturing of the vote at next year’s council elections.
But this is an old story and these councillors defected in July. (More have jumped since then. Sometimes, but not always, people who had already fallen out with the local Labour Party.)
3 Cllrs deselected by the Labour Party for doing no work and have other ongoing issues, are so desperate to remain as Cllrs so they have joined the Greens to be candidates. Not really a good picture for them or the Greens. If they had not been deselected, they would have remained as Labour Cllrs. 2 of them ran for the Tories before being successfully with being elected for Labour. Expect more as selections for candidates completes and those deselected jump ship hoping to remain as a Cllr
Hammersmith and Fulham council is too ideological. Their dislike of driving has made them close or narrow roads, and resulted in worse traffic impacting cars and buses. Compare 5 years ago to today and its night and day. This whole council needs replacing.
Always said he Keir Starmer is a Tory in a red tie. He has the poshest name, how can this posh twat represent the ‘labour’ class?
They won’t show this on the bbc
Given the lackluster performance of Labour especially on a national level, and the recent leadership changes in the Greens to seemingly be more growth-oriented, I’m seriously not surprised. Labour was elected on a promise of progressive change, and whether you agree with that or not they have failed to deliver on that promise on the national level and are basically just diet Reform now. Given that the Labour leadership isn’t very interested in the left any more, it’s no surprise that members of Labour that still believe in progressive change are jumping ship to the only major-ish party that’s promising that, and in fact just elected a new leader on the promise of pursuing that
Green are absolute clowns. Personally think there should be an election if you defect
Labour just became 3 points more attractive.
3 out of x hundred/thousand councillors around London/UK
