Did the train go to Coburg? There is an anual samba festival, but that happens in juni/july.
Most likely it was a train that wasn’t being used currently and the Zugführer can basically put in whatever he wants. There are some pictures where it says ‘coffee break’ or ‘vacation’ or ‘train is tired’ etc.
Maybe a train going to Coburg, the city hosting a big festival each year called Samba Festival?
You just need to ask the train staff to play Samba music. They’ll turn on the music and disco lights, and the onboard festival will begin.
It might be an actual special train to a Samba Festival, but some bus and tram drivers also have a little fun with the signs when they are not in service.
Train drivers like to have fun too. One train at my Bahnbetriebswerk said „Ich bin kaputt!“ today. There’s a few different ‘fun’ ones you can pick if the train isn’t in service instead of the “nicht einsteigen”
There is a sub for funny or weird displays on trains. It’s called r/zugziele
My guess is that the loco driver was just funny when selecting a placeholder.
Samba si, Arbeit no 🕺
Maybe it goes to a festival or is dedicated to it . Maybe excepts only festival visitors
I know, that some spezial Trains were called Sambazug, when they be used for get Fans from a Sportsclub to another Town, when there is a spezial game.
I think, in the most ways, it was extra ordered from Fan Clubs for theire own Fans to get to the game, with the posibility to make Party and get drunk.
My Dad and his “Kegelclub” sometimes travel by something called “Sambazug”, the exact opposite of quiet trains.
Maybe thats that
This is a very fine example of the famous German sense of humour.
