TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – The City of Topeka has a projection of what a proposed KTA interchange in East Topeka would look like.
Development Strategies, a firm hired by the city to project the economic impact the interchange would have in the considered area at 29th and California Blvd., went over its findings with the city’s Public Infrastructure Committee Tuesday.
The firm speculates big earnings over the next 25 years, upwards of $19 million every year along with more than 400 jobs supported. Development would cost $18 million, which would require the city to find other funding sources in addition to the property taxes that would be used to cover the project.
