  1. NYT spinning and shilling for the fossil majors again.

Outside the US, polls reliably indicate some 80 percent of the population takes climate change seriously and wants something done about it.

Inside the US it’s still a majority, but more like 60 pct if I remember correctly.

  2. Society has soured on climate politics because society has soured on politics. Institutions in the West have lost their legitimacy as they can no longer resolve the contradictions of immense wealth generation on one hand and mass precarity and poverty on the other. The ruling classes are unable to govern, only extract – leaving them with only simple tools like hate, division, confusion to nullify the polity. This means nihilism, misantropy, and solipsism for everyone. And no one is going hear words like carbon emissions etc. under these conditions.

  3. It’s more profitable to profit off of a changing climate than it is to try to do something about it.

Humanity is failed. How soon can the asteroid hit us?

Except those fuckers would try to make money off that too.

  4. Politicians have politicized it and therefore it had strong opposition from people who just want to oppose the other party.
