Picked up Borderlands 4 despite me telling myself I’ll never go for day one games again.
Turns out it’s actually really fun and me and a buddy are having an absolute blast on it! Lots of people had negative reviews due to performance issues but we’re not in that camp it seems for our PCs
Another friend bought it and will hopefully get to our level soon, love me some carnage.
Got a month of PS plus and downloaded a few games I’d got from that over time but not yet played. Started **RoboCop Rogue City** and it seems ok, pretty basic but definitely has that 80s film feel to it. Not got too far but will probably play more.
I also fired up **Aliens Dark Descent**. I do enjoy an RTS and I love the Alien franchise so what could go wrong? I put it on easy as the general consensus is it’s a tough game and, remembering my time with x com 2, assumed I’d enjoy it more. And it’s about right for me, enough of a challenge but not too difficult whilst still tense. Overall I’m having a great time with it, but good lord it is absolutely riddled with bugs: the x button suddenly stops working in the menus, items you need for objectives disappear, prompts for various actions don’t always show up… None of them are exactly game breaking but most require at best a save reload and at worst closing and reloading the game.
Installed skate last night just after launch. Queue to get in, character all bugging, didn’t feel fluid, got soft locked in the tutorial island and turned it off. Hopefully plays better tonight.
It’s a great week of games, with Jump Space, Easy Delivery Co and the new Dying Light game all releasing on Thursday. My wallet is not gonna cope so I need to pick one to start with – thinking Jump Space as the demo was really fun!
Batman for the Game Boy. According to Google it’s a half hour game but I’ve spent more time than I care to admit on it and I’m really struggling on the last couple of levels.
I will not be defeated.
I’m the Batman.
I’ve been playing Dead Island 2. Not the best game I’ve ever played but there’s something about coming home from work and beating the shit out of zombies
Finished Oblivion Remastered a few days ago. All achievements.
Not ready to leave Cyrodil yet. Recreated and tweaked my character’s appearance a bit before jumping back in and focusing on role playing. I love this game, but I enjoy it so much more with achievements out of the way.
There’s an environmental restoration game called Terra Nil I’ve been playing. It’d fairly fun but some areas are a little annoying. It does sort of mirror real life, in a way.
Going through Final Fantasy Tactics for the first time on a little handheld emulation thingy
Enjoying it so far!
Still playing Lies Of P. My crappy hands usually mean an hour maybe two at most before I need to put it down. I’m super pleased with the difficulty settings being available now. Being casual and limited time wise it was just too hard to “git gud” so now I can at least enjoy the story and the world without wanting to kill myself after 1009999999 attempts at seemingly easy bosses lol
Been playing Lego The Hobbit with the missus, as we’ve been craving another open world Lego game similar to Lego City Undercover. Missus didn’t really like Lego Star Wars so I’ll be playing through that on my own. Now we’re both looking forward to the new Lego Batman though!
For some reason I had the urge to play some of the old Tropico games. Played a bit of 4 & 5 over the last week, such silly fun.
I got all nostalgic over the old Blade Runner game I had for the family PC back in 1999 and discovered it has been remastered and was on Steam for £7. I played that for a couple of hours on Sunday but it was a lot more watching cut screens than I remembered. Hoping it will pick up once I’ve unlocked more locations.
Despite it making me want to bash my head into a concrete wall sometimes, Hollow Knight Silksong is proving to be 112% worth all the hype.
I got back into Deadlock Recently.
Also still slowly playing Silksong but it does just get frustrating a bit too often.
Started Bioshock on the Switch 2 after getting the Trilogy on sale. Played it before on the PS3 but it’s just nice to have it portable now.
One of THE greatest openings in gaming history.
Almost my birthday, if I don’t go away I’m praying a restock on refurbed steam decks are available!
Does anyone have any tips on how to get those notifications?
Banjo-Kazooie
I’ve been on and off **Football Manager 2024**, with a bit of a renewed interest of FM26 being announced. There’s a whole load of *”don’t pre-order, you don’t gain anything from it”* which I can understand from other game franchises, but i’m clearly going to play it too much so it’s a bit of a no brainer for me.
I’ve also got the urge out of nowhere to play the original **Rollercoaster Tycoon**. It’s a totally cracking game ahead of it’s time so i’m sure i’ll get a couple of hours on that at some point this week!
I have been loving Two Point Museum on my Steam Deck.
I’ve loved the last couple of Two Point games but it really feels like they’ve nailed the formula with this one. It also helps that i am a raging slut for a museum.
I got Civ 5 on release and played two games to the end and basically haven’t picked it up since. I noticed that for some reason I seem to have a bunch (all?) of DLC I don’t remember ever buying, so reinstalled it and it’s a lot more fun than I remember! Basically lost two days to it so far.
Got some sort of carpal tunnel / RSI thing going so no WASDing for me in near term 🙁
Back into No Man’s Sky after the new update.
I was one of the unfortunate souls who bought the game on day one but the developers have actually listened to the player base and have constantly been improving it to the point where its now my go-to space exploration game!
Been blitzing Yakuza Like a Dragon for the last week, trying to finish it before I go on holiday next week. Don’t think I’m going to make it, got 6 days left and I’m on chapter 9.
Absolutely loving it though, the characters are amazing, and interested to see where the story goes.
On a separate note, if anyone knows the series, should the man who erased his name be played between LaD and IW, or after IW?
