One week of intense conversations in Kyiv convinced me that Ukraine has no need for Trump any longer.
Ukraine can produce all the arms it needs, but it needs financing, which Europe can and must deliver.
Trump has swiftly ended the time of US superpower.

  1. This is false. Ukraine still needs Patriot and HIMARS missiles, not to mention all the VC which is seeking deals with Ukrainian defense startups right now (I just watched a pitch session here today).

If DJT gets vindictive he can force that capital flow off.

  2. The intelligence support is extremely important as well. That may be replaceable in the aggregate with a coalition of several countries such as France, UK, Japan etc. but no one nation can replace the insight USA can provide.

  3. Good luck, but i think this is a false statement, But have np if Ukraine can win without the US, hope it works out.

  4. This is so full of shit I don’t even know where to start.

  5. As long as a war is raging on neither side has what they need to win.

  6. The US still has the intelligence (CIA and satellites) and advanced weapons (HIMARS, Patriots) Ukraine needs. EU isn’t there yet.

We saw what happened when Trump cut access to intelligence for 2 weeks back in February.

  7. Less need of the US is correct, but definitely not at the point where Ukraine is fine and dandy without US. As stated by other commentators, intelligence and crucial weapon systems are still things that Kyiv would need Washington to supply. It’s a good thing that Ukraine’s indigenous capabilities have reached the point that they can strike deep into Russia with domestic weapons though, cause disabling Russian oil infrastructure and their MIC without wholly depending on NATO arms is huge.

  8. Sounds good to me as a US taxpayer.

I think it is stupid and unrealistic, especially because I want Ukraine to succeed.
