WWE President Nick Khan says Italy will receive a Premium Live Event (PLE) next year.
While appearing at the IMG x RedBird Summit this week, Khan told SportBusiness that Italy is expected to host an event “early next year.” No further details were provided about the timing or name of the event.
The upcoming event, if announced, will come amid the broadcasting rights for WWE programming in Italy changing hands. While WWE shows currently air on Warner Bros. Discovery channels, the programming will switch to Netflix sometime in 2026.
WWE has visited Italy for broadcasts in the past, notably appearing in Bologna during the Road to Wrestlemania this year for an episode of SmackDown. In 2007, episodes of Raw and Smackdown were taped in Milan.
However, a PLE in the country would be a first, as WWE has never done anything bigger than a TV or house show there.
Little is known about WWE’s 2026 schedule currently. While the promotion’s top events – Royal Rumble, Summerslam, and of course Wrestlemania – have been confirmed, smaller cards, like Elimination Chamber or Backlash, haven’t been announced.
