I can’t understand why anyone would object to one in their area.
You can’t even it them from outside the fields.
I’ll bite.
Looks like a waste of prime agricultural land. Surely solar should be placed on lower quality land?
Sunny south east living up to its name.
Wonder what other ones are in the pipeline
inb4 someone who hasn’t a clue starts shiteing on about how Ireland doesn’t get any sun
I posted a few days ago asking why there isnt more wind farms around Ireland.
They must have heard me.
I’m in line to inherit a couple of hundred acres of farmland in the future.
Not quite enough to make a living by farming in 20 or so years.
Would this be a good alternative? I had thought of it previously, but left it at that.
Something something sunny south east.
French company. Gov scheme offers the guaranteed minimum price. So you’re monetizing the skies over Wickla and exporting the value. But it sure feels good.
The avg house uses 4200 kwh a year so this 8 megawatts solar plant will power 2’000 houses?
Not the first ffs. There are already a few grid-scale ones in the North, connected to the all-island system.
Right in time for the 3 months where half the solar energy of the year comes in to Ireland
