Egypt and TotalEnergies Marketing Egypt(TEME), discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the field of safe transportation of petroleum products. This came during the meeting of Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, with Thomas Strauss, TEME’s outgoing Managing Director, who was accompanied by his successor, Mutaz Nazzal. A TotalEnergies representative in Egypt has also attended the meeting.
The discussion focused on leveraging TEME’s advanced expertise in safe transportation in light of the agreement it signed with the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) . The agreement ensures providing specialized consulting services to improve safety standards in the petroleum product transportation system, in accordance with the latest international standards.
Badawi affirmed his desire to push work with the company towards further developing this system, which represents a top priority for the petroleum sector.
For his part, the group’s representative in Egypt praised the significant development in infrastructure and the road network constructed over the last decade. He expressed the company’s desire to provide the necessary equipment and supplies to support infrastructure projects, in addition to enhancing cooperation in the field of aircraft refuelling.
At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to form a joint working group from both sides to follow up on enhancing cooperation between the petroleum sector and the company.
TEME is a 50/50 joint venture between TotalEnergies Marketing Afrique, a subsidiary of the multinational broad energy company TotalEnergies SE, and the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company for Distribution (ADNOC Distribution), a leading fuel distribution company in the Middle East.
