Spain joins Portugal, Italy, Iceland, Norway, and more as Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) takes a significant step to enhance its Business Class travel offering. The airline’s strategic expansion of its lounge partnerships ensures that premium passengers enjoy superior comfort and service at key destinations. By adding more high-quality lounges to its network, SAS strengthens its commitment to delivering an exceptional travel experience, reflecting the growing demand for top-tier services in the competitive airline industry.

Scandinavian Airlines is set to elevate its Business Class offering, providing business travelers and premium customers with a significantly enhanced travel experience. Through strategic partnerships with renowned lounge operators, SAS is expanding its network of high-quality lounges at key destinations. This expansion ensures that travelers enjoy top-tier comfort, service, and seamless solutions, meeting international standards across the SkyTeam alliance.

This move is also a pivotal part of SAS’s long-term strategy to bolster its premium services. By incorporating additional lounges into its network, the airline is working to deliver a more consistent and streamlined journey, establishing the foundation for ongoing enhancements to the overall customer experience.

“This is a comprehensive upgrade of our Business Class offer, with lounge access as a key part of the experience,” says Theres Briger, Head of Onground Product at SAS. “By partnering with established lounge operators, we can quickly give our customers access to a much broader network at important destinations across Europe and Scandinavia. The goal is to offer around 35 additional lounges at year-round destinations, and we already have agreements in place in cities such as Bergen, Helsinki, Billund, Stavanger and Aalborg.”

The initial partner lounges will begin operations on October 1, 2025, with more locations expected to be added throughout the fall. Efforts are already in progress to establish lounge access at key destinations, including Nice, Malaga, Palma, Lisbon, Venice, Florence, Naples, Malta, Madrid, Milan Linate, Manchester, Edinburgh, Prague, Krakow, and Keflavik.

“Our ambition is to have as much as possible in place by October 1, while recognizing this is a dynamic process where new agreements will be finalized step by step,” Briger continues. “This means some destinations are already ready, while others will follow throughout the autumn. We will keep customers continuously informed about which lounges are available, ensuring they can plan their journey with ease and receive the experience they expect.”

The new initiative enhances SAS’ deep integration within the SkyTeam alliance, ensuring that the expanded lounge access complements the premium travel experience offered across the network.
