Ancient graffiti i found of blodwen ship at my families old farm in Gwynedd North Wales. 1885? (I think hard to make out). This drawing was engraved into one of the stones making up the wall of the farm. Thought it was interesting

  1. Wow! Have you only recently found it? Take a rubbing! One day it will wear off with the weather.

  2. I found notes online of a schooner built in Porthmadoc but that was built in the later 1800s and if I’m not mistaken your graffiti has 1809 or something to the left?

  3. I’d reach out to Cadw or to Bangor Uni as they would be very interested, especially the uni even if it’s only to know that it’s there

  4. I’m just asking. Has this since been preserved? It would be such a loss if this was to be/get weather damaged.

  5. The name rings a bell for some reason, I’ll have to think.
