BAE Systems has delivered three BvS10 armoured personnel carriers to defence authorities of Sweden, Germany and the UK.
This delivery is part of the BvS10 Collaborative All-Terrain Vehicle programme.
Combine business intelligence and editorial excellence to reach engaged professionals across 36 leading media platforms.
The vehicles presented to the three countries are based on the latest iteration of the BvS10 model currently being used by Sweden.
They come in various configurations tailored for different operational roles including troop transport, logistics support, medical evacuation, recovery operations, and command and control.
BAE Systems Hägglunds managing director Tommy Gustafsson-Rask said: “The extreme mobility capabilities offered by the BvS10, and the multiple uses that it enables, provides the user nations with a reliable, high-tech and modern capability that is instantly ready for missions in the harshest environments.
“And because of the streamlined procurement model, nations will easily be able to join seamlessly and receive the advanced capabilities the BvS10 provides.”
This initial batch is a fraction of the 663 vehicles due for procurement under a framework agreement signed in 2022.
According to current purchase order agreements, Sweden’s Defense Materiel Administration will receive 236 BvS10s and the UK Ministry of Defence will acquire 60 units. The German Federal Ministry of Defence has placed an order for 140 vehicles.
All the BvS10s are scheduled for delivery by 2028.
In addition, Germany has ordered another 227 BvS10 vehicles under the same framework.
The BvS10 is designed to navigate a range of challenging landscapes including ice, mud, rocks, sand, snow, steep mountainous regions and swamps.
The vehicle can also operate in waterlogged environments and coastal waters.
Designed to meet NATO standards for terrain accessibility, the BvS10’s modular architecture allows for rapid reconfiguration to suit diverse mission requirements.
Currently, the BvS10 is in service with several countries including Austria, France, the Netherlands, Sweden and the UK.
In May 2025, BAE Systems Hägglunds entered into a memorandum of understanding with Iveco Defence Vehicles to explore opportunities for the BvS10 all-terrain vehicle in the Italian defence market.
