Producer price inflation in Moldova accelerated to 5.4% in August 2025, up from 5.2% in July, marking the highest level since September 2023.
The increase was largely driven by soaring costs in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply (31.2% vs. 25.0% in July) and mining and quarrying (12.0% vs. 11.2%).
In contrast, manufacturing prices rose at a slower pace, easing to 2.7% from 2.9% in the previous month.
On a monthly basis, producer prices edged down 0.2% in August after being unchanged in July.
