  1. I know, I know, but this still saddens me. Radio telescopes, especially the old big ones, are just inherently cool. I’m sorry to see it go.

  2. Hey, if they’re going to hit radio apparatus, how about we pay them a few million to hit the GPS jammers in Konigsberg?

  3. I thought I already blew that up in Goldeneye.

  4. They should hit the Cosmodromes as well. Russia has launched a lot of military satellites this year. Not all satellites are targeted against Ukraine, but the launch sites are very much a part of the war effort.

  5. I get the military importance of that success, so huzzah, but that’s also worthy of mourning…scientific infrastructure like that should be sacred but you could say it was defiled when Russia started using it for military purposes

  6. This was the RT-70 in Crimea. There’s one other in Russia.

    There are also two RT-64s.

They could go for the full set …..

  7. When I first heard this I was thinking of Science and radio astronomy, but then I later realise it was being used to support the Russian GPS system called GLOSNAS..
So taking it out of action is a positive.
