The biggest Luxembourg Times BusinessRun ever raced through Kirchberg on Thursday to raise money for charity.
Around 8,000 runners from 450 companies joined the 5km run through the heart of Luxembourg’s business district on Thursday evening.
“It is inspiring to see so many runners here today – to have a good time with their colleagues but also to raise money for a good cause,” said Luxembourg Times editor-in-chief Cordula Schnuer at the starting line. “We all know someone whose life has been changed by cancer, whether as a patient, family member, colleague or friend. The Luxembourg Times is a proud partner of the BusinessRun, which brings this community together.”
The starting signal was rung at 18:30.

BNP Paribas entered the largest team, with 795 colleagues from the company joining the run. Already last year, they took top spot, followed by Clearstream/Kneip (298) and ArcelorMittal (264).
With €2 of every registration fee collected for charity, the BusinessRun raised €32,278 for the Fondation Cancer, which supports cancers patients and their families in Luxembourg as well as funding research in the fight to prevent and cure the disease.
The fastest teams were rewarded with special prizes, with awards handed by Cordula Schnuer to the winners in the following categories:
Women’s team: TRE Club Women – Martina Ilijanic, Jennie Svensson and Giulia Branz from the European Investment Bank
Men’s team: ArcelorMittal01 – Anthony Parrico, Emir Grairi and Thibaut Pogorzelski from ArcelorMittal
Mixed team: LEGs go crazy – Emma Waechter, Guillaume Schoffit and Loïc Sefrin from PwC
Not only the fastest teams scored prizes, however, with 404 Speed not Found (Augemus) winning for most creative team name and runners dressed as bumper cars (team Paul Wagner + Fils) scoring for best costume.

The 2025 edition of the BusinessRun broke last year’s record of 6,600 runners, which was up from 5,400 in 2023.
Runners celebrated during the after party at the Coque leisure centre, with live music, food trucks and at the Luxembourg Times lounge.
