  2. He’s gonna go scorched earth tonight and dare the FCC to get him canned also. Thing is, Stewart will be thoughtful while ripping them apart.

  3. I don’t really even know where to stream CC any longer. Hopefully Mr. Stewart will lambaste this shit, and put a fire under his contemporaries so that they do the same. Strikes happen in the entertainment industry, lets make this one fucking hurt.

  4. Honestly if this was a calculated move by the network to boost ratings it’s absolutely going to work. Everyone trying to watch the clips that got Kimmel suspended, tuning in to watch Stewart, then tuning in to see what Kimmel says when he’s back. Ironically, this may be what saves late night talk shows.

  9. I haven’t tuned into a live broadcast of the daily show in awhile. I think I’ll make an exception for this because Jon is probably going to go scorched earth on this.

  22. I will say this about the generation of late night hosts. Attacks on one are considered an attack on all.

  23. I hate the circumstances behind this but I’m also really fucking excited to see what Jon has in store tonight.

  28. The best part of all of this is if these guys got together and started a channel with all of their shows they would make way more money and reach a much larger audience. I don’t know the numbers on their shows but they must be shrinking purely on the fact that many don’t even have these channels. Better the devil you know than the devil you don’t. They might not even sway any voters but they certainly get under that orange skin.

    “I take issue with Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension. This was a petty retaliatory act.

    I am cancelling my streaming subscriptions to Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN. My family and I will miss watching shows we love on these services, but we will find new shows. I will especially miss Will Trent.

    Please consider how your actions reflect on your reputation when you cave to an illegal threat.”

  30. The Daily Show records at 6 so whatever Jon Stewart said is now on tape with a live studio audience as witness. I’m sure Paramount big wigs are watching it and deciding if they can air it. If they choose to not air I assume Stewart quits. If they edit it in some fashion I’m sure we’ll find out. The next few hours should be interesting.

    Yes he could win. Yes he has legislative experience. Yes he is a magnet for the media. Yes he is progressive enough. And yes, he could take Trump through the wringer worse than Newsom’s media team.

  36. In a world where South Park “missed a deadline” which I suspect is Matt/Trey’s way of saying “hold my beer” I wouldn’t expect anything less than scorched earth from Stewart. I imagine John Oliver’s getting something prepped as well for this weekend.
