This seems like something open to egregious misuse and an abuse of power.
I don’t like where the « Greater Good » is leading us.
What the fuck Latvia? Idiots deserve representation too, you can’t just ban MPs from voting.
Is this even democratic?
Oh, Hooo!
That was unexpected, but i like this!
Is vaccination mandatory in Latvia? If not – horrible move, if yes – good move.
Quite tired of the governments insisting that it’s not mandatory, but if you don’t do it – you get penalized. I mean, just get it over with and proclaim it as a “must have”, don’t pretend to be all “you’re free not to… buuuuut…”.
Unrelated, but imho if you’re gonna start discriminating and/or refusing tax-funded services based on the status of *voluntary* vaccination then perhaps those that get excluded from those services should also be excluded from tax collection as well, only fair, right?
MPs?
Vaccinations are pretty much mandatory everywhere for The average voter, so why can their representatives be above this?
The online parliament is a circus. Some out right disrespect The parliament just for The sweet, sweet PR.
It doesn’t even affect that many. Only a few.
For us, it is a good move.
Latvia has most corrupt government in whole world. The guy in charge is USA sidekick, but the opposition is Russian sidekicks. Latvia is doomed no matter what.
This must be the dumbest reason to prevent a MP from voting.
Wow, that’s super fucked up
Great!
So it begins.
What’s the voting procedure for this? 2/3 majority? Simple majority? Something else?
Edit: The article only states that 63/100 voted in favour. So I’m wondering.
