>Asphalt of the future? We developed this together with Universiteit Antwerpen and Colas Belgium! Last year, we laid a few test surfaces on the Right Bank. These were part of a larger study that develops sustainable road infrastructure for a port environment.
>
>This research now shows that these sustainable asphalt types also effectively extend the life of our heavily used roads 💪 The aim is to ultimately cover all new roads in the port with the new asphalt types!

So we test these sustainable roads by not using or testing it on mass….

I can imagine they do this for future expansions in industrial areas. And it’s easier for trucks to turn back.
Sure this is belgium, and _everything is stupid_, but there could be many reasons for this:
– future expansion from this point
– place for trucks to easily turn around
– testing of infrastructure/materials/construction methods
combination of all of the above.

Do you have to turn on your pinkers when you exit the roundabout?
Is it really a roundabout if you can’t go round?
All new industrial area’s in Antwerp port are first expanded to with a roundabout. Its normal.
Perhaps handy for for trucks to turn around?
People here laughing while people in /r/CitiesSkylines download 12 different mods to do exactly this
There’s a similar “roundabout” in the industrial zone in Hoboken.

You have one roundabout, I raise you a [double](https://www.google.be/maps/place/51%C2%B014'47.7%22N+4%C2%B012'50.5%22E/@51.2465918,4.2121955,724m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m6!3m5!1s0x0:0x7dd56419cb31b925!7e2!8m2!3d51.2465888!4d4.2140359)
A turnabout
built to drift
The real “Belgium moment” is that it has the roundabout street sign even though it’s not actually a roundabout.
use: for trucks, bus and vans to also turn around
Cul-de-sac for trucks. Imagine having to turn an 18 wheeler on that narrow street
Eurobeat intensifies !
Aren’t these required in some situations (where big trucks couldn’t make a turn otherwise) for emergency services?
At least they completed it, and it’s not an ongoing roadwork
nuttigste Belgische infrastructuur:

Uhum according to the high waty code that’s not a roundabout mister! 😌
Edit: There is a sign
The university of Antwerp can use some space in the port of Antwerp for testing different types of asphalt mixtures. This roundabout is one of them.
Vietnam GP hairpin
Where exactly is this?
It only needs a huge ugly artpiece in the middle to be fully complete. Maybe some bushes too.
Going in the same direction as human rights in America.
Belgian infrastructure … the amount of money we wasted on roads and bridges to nowhere is bonkers

Nice, a dedicated drift road!
