Smoke rises over Gaza city on Tuesday morning. The Israeli military officially launched its operation with defense minister Israel Kat saying Gaza was burning as yet more residential towers fell to air strikes. Israel has called up tens of thousands of reserveists and has been preparing the ground offensive for several weeks despite the misgivings of some highranking army officers. Roughly 1 million Gaza city residents had been issued with evacuation orders. Thousands are fleeing towards a so-called humanitarian zone that is already overcrowded and lacking sufficient food, water, and shelter. We have been displaced more than 20 times so far. We have become homeless. Where can I go with my children? My husband is in one area and my children and I are in another. About 90% of Gaza’s 2 million residents have been displaced. In Israel, protesters have criticized the offensive on Gaza City, saying it puts the hostages lives in danger. But Prime Minister Bignyamin Netanyahu continues to defend his position. Thank you.
