The certification ceremony in Stockholm.
On Monday 15 September 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Stockholm held a certificate presentation ceremony for ethical Nuad Thai business, recognising 85 Thai massage establishments for meeting professional standards. The event took place at Folk Mat & Möten and was part of the ThaiWISE project, which supports the capacity of Thai women in Sweden.
This was the fourth batch of businesses to be certified, following earlier rounds in Malmö, Stockholm and Gothenburg. With the new additions, the total number of certified establishments across Sweden has grown from 50 to 134.
In her speech, Thai Ambassador to Sweden Arunrung Phothong Humphreys praised the dedication of the entrepreneurs, noting that Thai massage is both a livelihood and part of Thailand’s cultural heritage that connects with Swedish society. She underlined that the embassy has supported the ThaiWISE initiative for more than four years, providing financial assistance and strategic consultation, while also engaging with Swedish authorities to improve the well-being of Thais living in Sweden.
The Ambassador emphasised that the project reflects the spirit of “Thais helping Thais” and aligns with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ guiding principle: People Diplomacy – Everywhere We Care.
