Does The Satanic Temple have a congregation in the German-speaking area?

  1. Theres a leak going around saying the satanic chruch could under the religious freedom act maintain abortions in the US as religious rituals, so my respect for this group of people has risen dramatically.

  2. As far as I know they are not that present in Switzerland or in Europe in general.

It is not that surprising considering the vastly different law landscape and impact regarding religion and freedom of religion compared to the USA.

But it would certainly be interesting in religious canton such as Valais where you have to literally renounce God in a written letter to the bishop if you do not want to finance the catholic church through your taxes.
This independently of however you may feel about religion, God or the impact of man on theology.

I doubt it would change much but it could bring up debate and reframe the dialog surrounding moral Christinan values and Islam ideology imposed by communities.

  3. I have nothing against Satanists but this statue is sort of creepy as religious statuary often is. What is highly confusing to me is that Mr. Satan’s right hand is extended upward and his fingers are held in a position which has been used for centuries in oathtaking in the West but derives from a representation of the Greek letters IC XC, meaning Jesus Christ, used as a position of blessing in many ancient Christian churches.

Again, I am not criticizing Satanism as such, though I cannot see myself worshiping a goat-deity any more than an elephant- or monkey-deity.
