Prince William has had it with his uncle, Prince Andrew.

The Sept. 16 funeral for the late Katharine, the Duchess of Kent, turned out to be controversy-laden with Prince Andrew scoring a coveted seat near the future king at the services. According to the Daily Beast, the Prince of Wales was “boiling with anger” toward Andrew and his father, King Charles III, for putting him in this situation.

William seems to be the only one concerned about Andrew’s association with the late pedophile, Jeffrey Epstein, and how it reflects upon the palace. He’s reportedly asked Charles to deal with the issue, but the Duke of York continues to get treated with kid gloves (See the Royal Lodge issue.)

Andrew was seated directly behind William and Kate Middleton, which one of the Prince of Wales’ friends deemed a “disgrace” since it felt like they were being “ambushed” by Andrew. The future King of England allegedly was “furious” at the inappropriate seating chart and was later seen looking angry outside of the church. William does not want to be photographed with his controversial uncle — like, ever.

Prince William has been frustrated by his dad’s “weak” stance on Andrew (and the Prince Harry reunion). In an early September report, the Daily Beast backed up the heir.

“William always said, ‘Just cut Andrew off completely. It’s not appropriate to have an alleged sex offender breaking bread with the royal family.’ Charles was so desperate to be seen as embodying the spirit of Christian forgiveness that he let Andrew back in,” said a palace insider. “William was right about Andrew, and he is right about Harry. Charles is weak. William is anything but weak.”

The brotherly feud is one issue that may eventually work itself out, but backing someone in Epstein’s inner circle like Andrew is a questionable move for Charles. The monarch has reportedly been “at the end of his rope” time and time again with his younger brother, but he always gives him another chance.

“The drama and embarrassment with Andrew just never seem to end,” a source told InTouch Weekly in December 2024. “He’s an absolute disaster, but no one can very well contain him. He seems to have a knack for humiliating himself and the royals in the process.”

Will Charles ever listen to William? For now, it doesn’t seem like the king is ready to exile Prince Andrew.
