  4. The interview was MUCH more powerful than the open. I enjoyed the schtick but using their own words against them hasn’t worked in the past 12 years, it won’t have an impact now. A strong statement needed to be made and wasn’t.

    This is the America we live in.

    So many of us were warning everybody that if Trump gets back into office, he would be able to do so much damage placing right-wing judges to rig our justice system, and right-wing cronies in charge of our federal agencies.

    But millions of Americans decided to not vote against this. MAGA was a known entity, everybody knew their numbers and who they were going to vote for. But we so greatly underestimated how many people just straight up didn’t care enough about their country to try to help stop this.

  14. You do have the 1st amendment, until you are working for a company that doesn’t like the words you are saying. Then they have the right to fire you and send you packing. You will continue to have the 1st amendment. It just doesn’t cover consequences of words that you are free to speak.

Even the left’s cancel culture that the right was so upset about was aimed at the masses or companies that continued platforming the extreme misinformation, hate, or bias that the right was putting out. There might’ve been a little FCC warnings for TV if it was something that was borderline illegal.

  27. We don’t really have any Constitutional amendments anymore when Trump and the Supreme Court can just throw them out whenever they want. The Supreme Court got rid of the 4th Amendment a few weeks ago.

  28. The first amendment does say the freedom of speech. Yes. But when you work for an organization that is for profit, and you represent that organization as a figurehead by being a person who speaks to the public, you’re under a fiduciary responsibility to the organization and its shareholders. So if you say something that spooks the people you work for, or go off script without telling them what you’re going to say, then yes, there is consequences for it. I’m not saying I agree, I’m just saying what happened.
