It’s way too simplified. It contradicts itself. He criticises populism but his “solution” sounds awfully populistic. Also building in Flanders is so expensive because of standards for energie efficiency, laws about mobility, accessibility, safety, fire protection, … Prices for building materials is sky high because the demand is way bigger then supply. Building more houses is going to increase demand even more. Labour is also a problem. In Belgium we have a serieus lack of professionals. We hire (often under qualified) people from Eastern Europe or North Africa. The money we pay those people leaves the Belgian economy. Not to mention the “concrete stop” driving up prices to insane levels.
