Hi,
I read back in January that the government would help people with the high bills with either or a one-off discount, or VAT reduction.
I got my adjusted huge bill from Engie to-day, and VAT is 21% and there was no discount.
Does anyone know what the government agreed to do?

I have been told that the bill you receive will already have benefited from the government help, clients don’t have to do anything
The lowered VAT rate has only been in effect since the beginning of April 2022. It’s not retroactive, so for everything you used before April 1st you’re charged 21% VAT. My supplier sent me my settlement invoice for gas yesterday and everything from April 1st onwards is charged at 6% VAT. Engie should bill you the same way. See this article (newer than yours): [https://www.vrt.be/vrtnws/nl/2022/03/14/energieakkoord-fup/](https://www.vrt.be/vrtnws/nl/2022/03/14/energieakkoord-fup/) .
When did you submit your yearly meter reading? If it was before April, I think it’s normal there is no mention of 6% VAT on your settlement invoice. Your new monthly prepayments should include 6% VAT instead of 21% VAT though.
I got it reimbursed.
