  2. to the writer of the article: So the rampant blatant corruption, disregard for basically all of the constitution, illegal deportations, and murdering of innocent civilians was ok but the Kimmel thing was the bridge too far huh?

    edit to be clear, why wasn’t the writer expressing shame when Colbert got cancelled? and being “ashamed” is a give up. get *pissed*. and DO SOMETHING.

  13. It really is a MASSIVE moment in history, right?

    For the first time, we see clearly and directly, the government shutting down media for saying things it doesn’t like. We’ve always said “look at our freedom, and our freedom of speech!”

    And now… that’s gone. It’s not ALL gone of course, but it’s the first time that the government has stepped in to say “no, fire that guy, he’s not allowed on the air because he criticized the government.” That’s HUGE.

    How can we look at other suppressive governments now and say we are much better? They arrest or fire journalists all the time and we’d always say “oh, that’s awful, luckily that’s not us.” But is IS us now. To a lesser degree (so far) but it’s still us, now the government is actively suppressing free speech.

  14. FCC treated Howard Stern even worse around 2004. He was a pioneer for making the jump from Grandpa’s radio to Sirius/XM.

  15. Because ABC folded? It should make you ashamed of the corporation- not being an American. That corporation, who fought DeSantis in FL folded to an FCC threat because of broadcast licensing. Of which they would have won in a suit. They just didn’t want to.

  18. I’d like to know why Howard Stern, Jimble Kimble’s good buddy, doesn’t have the balls to stick up for his friend or anyone else these days. He’s gone completely silent on the whole political situation. Not what I expected from my go to radio dj on sat radio since 2006. Obviously it’s because of who he works for but Jesus Christ, grow a pair Howard.

  21. This entire timeline makes me ashamed; ashamed and disgusted.

    Ashamed I volunteered to serve this country as an active duty Marine. I’m disgusted with what we’ve become – this is not the same country, my husband and I so proudly served for 20 years ago.

  22. America is an embarrassment of a country, and Trump is an embarrassment to our species. A walking crime against humanity who should rightly be stuck to a cold prison floor via syphilitic sore, instead of slowly dying of heart disease while cheating at golf.

    IMO, after his death, heart disease should really get the Nobel peace prize.

  24. Trump is literally – and I mean literally – doing everything Biden and Harris warned about before the election. And SCOTUS has been the most complicit partner. Let’s see them overturn two centuries of First Amendment law to say it’s ok
    for the government to make decision based on a certain type of speech. Anyone doubt that will happen.
