Michael Eisner, Disney’s former CEO who helmed the company for 21 years, has attacked the higher-ups at his former company after Jimmy Kimmel’s show was “suspended indefinitely.”
Eisner backed Iger’s return to CEO in 2024 as Iger threw a boardroom coup to take the spot back from Bob Chapek who briefly held it. But now, he’s firing back against Kimmel’s suspension from his network show on ABC, which is owned by Disney.

Eisner is looking pretty good as Disney’s CEO in retrospect. Really, the only big knock against him at this point is that he destroyed Disneyland’s Peoplemover.
When they had a Chairman who was accused of abusing Virginia Giuffre they had less to say.
I feel like for all the flack Eisner got he was actually willing to try new things and the company made some all time classics that didn’t rely on rehashing the same stories over and over. Easy for him to say this now, sure, but I would give him a higher chance of resisting government pressure than Iger. People who have a vision have something to defend, at least.
We didn’t know how good we had it. If only he didn’t do… I actually forget what he did that pissed everyone off in the end, but I remember it being kinda bonkers – the flipside of taking risks is sometimes they crash and burn.
“The best way to complain that will have the biggest impact? See if you have a Sinclair or [N]exstar station in your area,” Satterfield wrote. “2. Watch the local newscast tonight or some time this week. 3. Note the companies that bought tv adverts. 4. Call them and let them know you will boycott them until they quit supporting that media company”
Notice how we haven’t heard anything from Matt Damon. The silence is deafening from that MAGA hat
Oooh “lashes” is a new one. Good thing this person had a thesaurus, otherwise we’d be stuck with “slams”, “torches”, or “eviscerates”.
Of course he does, whats he got to lose.lol
“Bowing” being capitalized made me read this headline like eight times
Canceled my subscription.
Even if you do it for awhile it will send a financial message.
People, you can survive a few months without Iron Man
I think the comments rewriting history for Eisner are wild here.
He didn’t try new things, he bought or just outright stole popular foreign films and remade them for domestic audiences for almost everything that was a major hit.
His philosophy was literally to look for consistent base hits and not home runs despite the fact that the home runs he stumbled into over his tenure keeping him afloat.
He didn’t champion Pixar, he begrudgingly accepted them until they were a hit and then he drove them away.l completely.
That’s why katzenberg despite being crazy himself is thr one that should be given credit for the animation Renaissance
