He wants to be friends with autocrats and tyrants and would very much like far right politicians to take over in the allied countries. This way he could secure his reign until he kicks the bucket and transfers power to his son.

  18. It’s not that he says it that worries me.  It’s that people actually don’t react to it as justifying the invasion of another country.  It’s a change in worldview that I didn’t expect to see in my lifetime after World War II.

    I’d like to think that my country (USA) if it were in some kind of similar situation would stand up for its freedom-loving values, fight like hell for survival against a strong aggressor country with a dictator and far fewer freedoms without giving up, much like Ukraine has. So it’s easy to identify with them. And obviously it’s in our interest that Ukraine is able to fight off Russia.

    Some would just knee jerk react to hearing that and say we are stronger and we would never be in that position. Those people would have misunderstood my statement and also have zero imagination.
