   The Home Office said the Border Force worked “with tireless commitment and dedication every single day to keep our borders safe and secure”.”

   Well clearly, they’re failing to keep the borders secure. Shameless asking for a pay rise under such circumstances.

4. How about some actual info? Seems it’s over money/allowances. Fair enough. How much do they get and what do they want? As it’s gov probably fuck all and not much.

5. So if they go on strike, wouldn’t it be more unsafe for the illegals coming on small boats because no one will be there to save them in case their boat capsizes?

9. Er, how are they asking for more money when all we see if more boats coming across? If they’re not there to stop small boats crossing, what else are they doing on their patrols?

    Lol, that boat is designed to protect our borders, that’s a big gun on the front. I thought they’ve already been on strike for years, they cetainly havent been working protecting our borders in the channel. It’s like train drivers going on strike that haven’t driven a train in 5 years.

    Replacing their whole staff with people willing to do the job is needed anyway, “English Channel patrol boat workers” is an oxymoron. Re-hire and pay the new lot on commission, even open it up to volunteers, there’s many that would relish stopping invading boats with a gunship, even a dad’s army type arangement.

    Is this boat even real? This is the first and only mention of the solution to the migrant problem, are the government sneaking this in to pretend they have control but at the same time blaming strikers so they have an excuse?
