On Friday, September 19, 2025, Jamileh Azizi, an inmate held in Qarchak Prison in Varamin, died as a result of medical negligence and denial of proper healthcare. Jamileh Azizi, who showed symptoms of a heart attack, was transferred to the prison infirmary. However, after a brief examination, doctors failed to provide adequate treatment and sent her back to the ward. Hours later, she passed away in “Consultant Two” Ward. Her death marks the third case in 2025 of a woman prisoner in Qarchak Prison losing her life due to lack of medical care and systematic neglect.
