The Embassy of Sweden in Bangkok marked World Cleanup Day on Saturday 20 September 2025, underlining its role in a citywide effort to tackle mismanaged waste and promote sustainable urban development.
World Cleanup Day is a global initiative led by the Let’s Do It movement, which unites millions of volunteers across more than 190 countries to clean up litter in forests, rivers, beaches, streets and other public areas. The campaign aims to raise awareness of the world’s waste crisis and inspire practical solutions for a cleaner and healthier planet.
In Bangkok, the Swedish Embassy participates in the Eco-Capitals Forum, a partnership between the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, diplomatic missions and international institutions. The collaboration supports Bangkok’s environmental policies and seeks to strengthen the city’s green transition, economic vitality and social equity in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
