1. This whole thing stinks. They aren’t behaving correctly, as if they had no idea. They set this up. They sacrificed that creep as a maga martyr.

3. Knowing how desperately the far-right needs a pretext for crushing those of us who reject MAGA fascism, people who support that twisted ideology might somewhat reasonably fear that their supposed allies might turn them, too, into martyrs.

   With the rest of us unwilling to provide them with a convenient act of political violence, right-wingers may resort to targeting each other—at least until they can “justify” violence directed at us.

   They probably won’t get many volunteers, so they will become increasingly suspicious of each other.

   It’s such a ridiculous predicament that it would be funny if the results weren’t likely to be so grim.
