It is frustrating to think that 25 years ago, brand like Nokia, Ericson or Alcatel might have been there.
Today, which European player could you think of ? A niche market like Fairphone ?
very ashamed to see Apple this high here.
Who the hell keeps buying Apple? It’s like an american leash. Eww.

Thanks. Interesting to see the différences:
I spot that Pixel are more popular in the UK and Germany than in other european countries.
And Samsung seems quite popular too (more than in the US obviously since Apple is désigned in California?).
I was expecting both France-Germany ~50% Apple, I mean probably old people are lowering the percentage everybody seems to have iPhone nowadays.
I used to be apple from iPhone 3gs until around 2020 when i got a OnePlus, never going back to apple.
The Apple mindshare is too strong…
The UK once again copying the U.S.
In Paris it’s probably like 70% Apple honestly. But a lot of people are still running older models like iPhone 12/13 rightfully so if you ask me if you are not a tech/camera enthusiast. AirPods are also extremely popular
Xiaomi is basically invisible in the UK. Went to Spain on holidays and they have Xiaomi phones on display in tech stores (mediamarkt). Here, nothing. It’s all Samsung or Apple. At least unlike the US we’re not forced to use iMessage
It’s mind boggling how people here complain about Apple being US, but Samsungs bloat and adware riddled Google spy devices are the EU friendly solution?
Apple is US but is (apart from privacy oriented niche OS) the most secure and safe mainstream phone out there. The rest is either Chinese spyware or Google spyware. This is a fact.
Also, Tim Cook may have been blackmailed into pretending to play along with Trump, but Zuckerberg and Google are enthusiastically participating and moving the tech oligarchy forward. For example, Apple did resist Trump trying to axe all diversity programs.
So yeah I rather spend 1000 euros to not have my icloud data used for ad targeting or AI training.
Xiaomi really started to rise in the past few years, huh? Most of my friends and even teachers here in Hungary have a Xiaomi, just like me. Especially the Note 13 seems popular amongst people.
What’s going on in Spain?
Interesting to see HMD in the UK. I hope they keep going.
Glad to see motorola being in top 5 in each example. It is just a good phone without any bells and whistles.

Man I went the iPhone way from Samsung recently. What made me switch was the Google philosophy of infiltrating your phone. Google spyware bloat is cooked into everything. The final nail in the coffin was the phone deciding to switch to Gemini without my permission. F that

A big chunk of the apple % will come from work phones, here in Germany anyway.
I don’t understand the hatred towards Apple.
Apple smartphones may be more expensive, but they are very reliable devices that will last you 4-5 years without any problems. They also offer the highest level of security, allow you to disable tracking in all apps, and many apps are optimized for iPhones.
And in Germany in particular, basic iPhones are very affordable thanks to contracts where you pay a maximum of €30 per month.
I am surprised to see Apple so low in Spain. It feels like they are usually hit 20% in every market. To not even be #2 there is pretty surprising.
Nothing unexpected. Some of the top brands are simply the ones with great marketing and the rest are simply the current leaders of having the best features and specs at the lowest cost. I also own a phone from one of the brands listed here. I wanted to get something else, but with my budget I didn’t get to be picky about whom will I sell my soul to.
Apple just works. And if it comes to privacy, they are really the only ones selling it as a feature. And they haven’t given a reason to not trust them, yet. So yeah, I will keep buying iPhone, because I know what I get.

Makes me want to get rid of my apple phone
