The US will commemorate an influencer who was saying it was time for Greenland to rebel against Denmark and become United Statesians (the quiet part being that in this scenario, Greenland would be a US colony, like Puerto Rico i.e., without national representation, rather than a real state).

No offence to the Europeans or the Greenlanders and I hate to be a cynical man but if the USA decided to invade, what are you going to do?
International law is an unfunny joke and has always been so.
Most countries of the world won’t interfere or stand up to the USA just like how the Europeans didn’t stand up to the Americans in their atrocities against the Global South and the Middle East.
Unless, you develop a strong military which is the only thing that can actually work and has any merit in negotiation, how will you stop them?
You need to be in touch with reality and act pragmatic with problems otherwise it will not end well at all.

My first thought was this was yesterday at the MCG targeting Mason Cox, then I realised the group.
Nobody will invade Greenland with an army. If the US focuses it’s efforts it will launch a massive propaganda campaign to put a wedge between Denmark and Greenland, while supporting pro independence movements. Inciting animosity between the two, to eventually get a successful independence referendum. As soon as Greenland becomes independent, they will swoop in with a few loans, while their megacorps buy up land in Greenland. A few million in bribes to help local politicans make the right choice in regards to mining rights and military bases and everything will be great. They don’t even need to turn Greenland into a US territory. They can just do them like they do countries in Africa. Sucking them dry of resources and leaving to locals to fend for themselves.
Meh if Denmark keeps saying things like their Justice Minister the US can have Greenland for all I care.
