  1. Downvoted for posting something relevant to London and Londoners, people’s minds are cooked

  2. “Have you guys went to the Oxford St event”- what the hell English is that?

  3. I didn’t know anything like this was happening (in London there’s always so much going on it’s hard to keep up imo) but it looks like it would have been fun.

  4. This is one of the weirdest comments section I’ve stumbled into in a good while lol

  5. Awww this looks fun, wish I knew about it in advance

  6. So it’s going to become a cross between the busker-filled Leicester Square. “Everyone form a circle and let me talk for twenty minutes, not doing anything… and then I’ll demand £5 from the tourists”

And a tatty corporate market stall vibe, complete with white gazebo crime-zone style tents?

The only good this is with that many people there no one is going to get their phone stolen, because there’s literally no way anyone’s speeding through that crowd on a scooter.

  7. Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

  8. Happened on this by accident a few hours ago, ended up walking the length of it to check it out.

It was… interesting. It was really busy. They had a few decent food stalls, some I recognized from other weekend markets. The NBA and MLB had a presence there – there was a baseball batting cage and some people showcasing basketball skills and tricks.

I feel it was probably a bit too busy to be properly enjoyable – there were some parents and kids looking a bit frazzled. I think they could have done with some temporary seating too – somewhere to munch on your Yorkshire pudding wrap etc.

I’m very much in favour of more of these roads being closed to traffic more often, I think they’ll probably have some things they’ve learned from this event that they can use to help things next time.

Edit: the best part might have been a guy with a gigantic dog, but I think he was just a guy with a dog and not a formal part of the festivities. We saw him a couple of times in different places and he had a small crowd around him each time.

  9. Seems like it’s been a success, though obviously goosed up a lot by marketing.

  10. It’s good, some of the food is comically expensive (not all tbf, the rolls and coffee in the market bit were reasonable) but it’s so good without the traffic

  11. >Have you guys went to to

Covid really did a number of the literacy of our nation…

  12. Yes, the place did have a vibe with the several stalls put up.

  13. Pity anyone who lives in London with that moron in charge .
