  1. I realise ‘approved’ isn’t the same as ‘its happening, start the build’ but it does feel weird that this has been going on for so long and there might be progress. 

  2. We’re heating up the planet and the government approves airport expansion. Make it make sense.

While I’m not really pro expanding air travel, this one is sort of a no-brainer and is way more sensible than Heathrow expansion – it’s literally just moving one of their two **existing** runways *slightly* so that both runways can operate simultaneously. Really it’s fixing a flaw in the current layout rather than adding a new runway.

  4. They really should boost a more northerly airport like Birmingham or Manchester. Or if it has to be in the London area at least make it north of London so the rest of the UK population can access it without traversing through London, but also Londoners can as well.

    I mean look at Birmingham airport, the time from Birmingham airport to central London is just over 60 minutes. Maybe faster if that shortened stretch of HS2 opens.
