“When a user enters a question in natural language, artificial intelligence (AI) will automatically find correlations and anomaly patterns in the data, immediately reflect them in practice and support decision-making. It’s like having the best analyst around you.”

In a recent interview with Maeil Business, Edward Burein, vice president of global sales, explained the strength of the Tablo solution. Since joining Tableau in 2015, he has led the growth of his core sector and is now in charge of global sales strategies.

Founded in 2003, Tablo has been developing solutions to connect and visualize customer data under the vision of “Let’s make it better for people to understand data.” Tablo, which has been focusing on the field since 20 years ago, has been working closely with the Salesforce platform since it was acquired by Salesforce in 2019, and many companies that use Salesforce have also introduced and utilized Tablo.

Recently, Tablo has completely transformed itself into an AI-centered company by releasing AI agent products such as Tablo Next, Tablo Pulse, and Tablo Agent one after another. When a user asks a question in natural language, the AI agent automatically analyzes and visualizes the data. It is a structure that organically connects the entire process from data utilization to insight derivation.

Vice President Beuraine cited cloud-based data connectivity as the biggest strength of the tableau solution. Internal data is automatically imported, and the latest status is immediately reflected each time it is updated. In addition, all of the analysis results are displayed based on which raw data are derived, so that it can be easily verified if necessary.

ChatGPT or Excel, which fetches and analyzes external data, is prone to confusion in the process of re-sharing, he said. “Tableau has no such inconvenience because all functions are integrated into the company’s internal solution.” The advantage of the tableau is that it can visually check the operation status in real time through the dashboard environment.

In addition, Tablo solutions support a variety of visualization methods optimized for data characteristics, such as map-based visualization beyond tables or bar graphs. Based on these characteristics, the open platform “Tableau Public”, which accumulates data visualization data produced by users around the world, is also actively operating. Vice President Buren explained that sharing various visual data created by each person within this platform has become a culture.

Not only global users, including the United States, but also Korean users are actively sharing the results. With the development of this culture, the “Tableau Data Fest Korea” held in Seoul last month also held a competition called “Viz Games,” which analyzes and visualizes the same dataset within a limited time.

Tableau’s AI solutions have been introduced to a number of companies, demonstrating noticeable productivity improvements. For example, according to Salesforce, Formula 1 (F1) has reduced customer response speed by 80%, increased AI-generated content click-through rate by 22%, and reduced call processing time by 50%.

In Korea, various large companies such as AmorePacific, Samsung C&T, Hyundai Mobis, and Cheil Worldwide are actively using Tableau to achieve results. “Tableau’s AI solution will no longer allow companies to waste time organizing and analyzing data repeatedly, and focus on valuable tasks such as deriving insights based on refined data,” said Vice President Beuraine. “We will continue to support Korean companies and consumers to make better results with Tableau solutions.”
