Ukrainian fixed wing recon drone “Valkyrie” tries to dodge Russian FPV drones targeting it, September

  1. The crazy thing is, this is to a major extent automated. The newest tech involves a frequency detector for a typical video channel of an FPV drone, so if a strong enough signal is detected on this channel, the recon drone makes random pre-programmed avoidance maneuvres. The FPVs are usually far more shortlegged than a winged drone and lose battery charge fast, but the recon drone also gets forced to trade altitude for speed and loses altitude, making it easier accessible for even more FPV interceptors.

Still there is a significant chance for it to survive, unlike without this mechanism.

  2. Great, now we have drones dog fighting… How long till drones proclaim their own state?

  3. Great music. Вечно молодой by Смысловые галлюцинации, although this is some kind of non-copyright cover

  4. Reminds me of when I am flying my Avata 2 and in the goggles I see birds diving at me. They think they are harassing a crow or hawk I guess.

  5. this gives eagle trying to avoid the annoying bluejays and blackbirds dive bombing it because it got too close to its nest

  6. I swear to God I thought for a good 5 seconds this was r/HardcoreNature and these were a falcon and a smaller bird tryign to protect its nest.

    Fucking crazy times we’re living.
