They are the authors of their own demise. They backed the wrong horse with Brexit, could have had the best of both worlds under May and backed Boris Johnson who threw them under the bus the first chance he got.
While I haven’t followed this campaign closely, anytime I’ve heard the DUP speak it’s being all “Protocol” and “Border Polls” when the Protocol has been objectively good for NI against the rest of the UK and SF haven’t mentioned a BP in ages.
Their obsession with SF in the face of genuine issues like inflation and housing in the North will be their downfall. Unionism as a whole is in crisis and these people seem intent on furthering the division among their own which will be music to the ears of the TUV on the header side of things and parties like Alliance among the moderates.
Is the protocol in the room with us right now Jeffery
I love how the DUP campaigned for Brexit, and now complain at how it worked out. What exactly were they expecting?
Yes, good luck and thank you for those voting DUP tomorrow.
That lion’s not lookin too happy.
Shouldn’t they have a British animal on their logo as opposed to an African one?
Maybe a badger or something?
Nationalist heroes! the DUP have done more for nationalism than sinn fein have done in the last decade
I come from a staunch Unionist background and am a lapsed Orangeman. The DUP had literally everything they could ever have wanted. Control over NI, no reason to give ground on issues they cared about and they didn’t even have to pretend to manage the economy as they could just threaten Westminster for handouts.
And they threw it all away. There was no reason for this. They was no logical reason whatsoever to think that there would be any benefit for Northern Ireland. Here in England, there was lots of stuff about global trade, migration, sovereignty and so on.
Instead, they drew the attention of the UK and the EU to their grubby little operation. Previously nobody knew or cared but now the whole world sees them and knows what a petty, venal lot they are.
The daftest thing is that there was literally nothing to gain from their supporting Brexit. To compound the whole thing, they had May over a barrel and sold out the union for a bung. Nothing else.
Sinn Fein could never have accomplished anything like this. Neither could the most committed Irish government. It’s beyond parody. It really is.
Mad to think that big Arlene’s arguably done more to achieve a UI than big Gerry.
Tomorrow’s the beginning of the end for unionist bigotry In Ireland.
I had to vote in a very protestant dominant estate today with only my Irish passport and down south drivers licence 😂 the DUP candidate walked up to me as I was going in to vote and handed me a flyer, I looked him dead in the eye and said “go raibh míle maith agat” while giving him a big smile 😁
Stupid fucking logo. Lions? LOL!
I just think the dup are really not that bright. They voted for brexit and got what they wanted. Border down the Irish Sea is the best solution. So sick it up dupers
>They’re backwards ideology
They are backwards ideology?
I’ve said it before that they should make a statue of Arlene Foster out of copper so it starts out orange and slowly turns green.
Jesus what a day it would be. Heres hoping.
I love during the debate when Michelle gave a timeline of about a decade for a border poll. Gives Ireland plenty of time to elect Mary Lou as Taoiseach
United Ireland is a great idea! Take all of the problems of the Republic of Ireland (housing, cost living) and all of the problem in the north(sectarianism, unemployment) and add them together. It’s sure to end well. It’s akin to Brexit, a terrible idea on paper but people want it anyway because? F the brits!?, tiocfaidh ár lá?
Boris Johnson: [You give me too little credit!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVDFEvw-zUk)
They certainly did more for the cause of a united Ireland than Bobby Sands ever did by blowing up a furniture shop and then doing extreme keto.
A UI is a minimum 50 years away.
Practically 100% of unionists are against it and 25% of Nationalist want to remain in the union.
Unless the UK collapses into famine, Nationalist probably have to get to 65% of the population to have any chance of a referendum passing.
United Ireland, can not wait.
They complain so much about the protocol but I have yet to hear them make even one, single suggestion about what would work
Just goes to show that Unionism is nothing without the patronige of Westminster.
I’m praying for it, I have no doubt I’m gonna see united Ireland in my lifetime
From the U.S. here. What happened in the Irish elections? Is “Northern Ireland” going to cease to exist! We hope for a United Ireland!
Does this fit here?

Long live that cock up and the potential to become reality.
Just goes to show, even knuckledraggers have their uses.
