I wish I could say I’m shocked they fell for it, but I’m not.
My friend’s husband was killed in a mass shooting that was quickly forgotten except that her husband was a journalist and his brother was a famous author.
I remember how she was – even on CNN – in the days following his murder. I’m going to steal a line from a favorite song –
“Her dignity shone so bright like a light on a hill.”
