    Seems like a simple “Hey, no feet on the seats,” would have been sufficient.

  5. What a waste of public resources to register a complaint over something so minor. Has the woman who complained ever even taken public transportation? I’ve seen way worse unfold in front of me on these streets. Show patience, exercise caution and life goes on!

    If she is disabled, elderly, pregnant etc then it’s understandable to be upset about not having access to seating. Otherwise there are much larger hills to die on than “I don’t like this guy manspreading”.

  7. I actually take that train every day to go to work and while it is stupidly annoying that people do that or put their bag on another seat, it isn’t an arrest-able thing. There’s way worse things you can be focusing on. But also a lot of those white people are coming from affluent neighborhoods and they do not like people of color at all.

  10. Black guy here: Alex has to realize black folks are getting systematically targeted in this Administration. Under the guise of “ridding woke DEI ideology,” they are subjugating black folk. This requires a) real allyship between races and b) no time for half-ass card pulling.

    Using race to shield yourself from what appears to be criticism solely of your actions and intentionally overstating the impacts of a *slightly* heavy response to you causing a disruption hurts black folks when actual racism is afoot.

    I get it – black and brown folks can feel targeted out there now but this isn’t helping the cause.

  12. Yeah… the old lady was being a busy body, but he was being stubborn about leaving his feet on the seat then refusing to leave after he was asked to go. I think it’s OD to arrest someone for this, but that is trespassing. 

    The annoying thing about it is the old lady and her friends had their bags on the seats next to them.

  20. As a black man with a black son I’ll always advise my son when someone of any race asks you to move your feet move your damn feet son. This has more to do with him being a jackass than anything. He wasn’t fighting some greater cause by delaying everyone’s commute he was being entitled.
