I (region Odenwald/Bergstraße) have gotten the same type of very strange spam call twice now. It's always 5 calls, all one right after the other, none of them ring for longer than 5 seconds and it always switches between a number from Austria and an anonymous number. I never picked them up and always tried to immediately hang up, but I just don't know what the hell these calls are. The first time it happened was about 2 months ago, and just now it happened again. Has anyone else experienced something similar? And is there anything I should do besides blocking the numbers?

  1. It’s phone spam. If you pick up, you’ll get a recorded message telling you about your Amazon package and to push a button to be connected to a representative.

    Then they’ll try to trick you out of your money.

    Just ignore them.

  2. Oh yeah I had the Austria one yesterday. It’s a very good automated female voice saying (in German) ‘Hello, hello, can you hear me.. I can’t hear you, can you WhatsApp me’ and then hangs up.

    It’s an AI scam to try to convince you it’s your daughter/wife/cousin etc and when you WhatsApp them I assume they say they have lost their phone and need you to send them an Amazon gift card

  4. I get those kinda calls all the time, not everyday but like once a month they decide to spam for a couple days and then give up again.. I block and report the numbers and don’t pick up. Sometimes I picked up and nobody answered the call or a bot voice started talking so … just hope for them to give up.

  5. Block other country codes and let +49 unknown ones go to voicemail first.

  6. All the time. I used two apps to filter them out. True caller and Mr Number. ( I use just the free version and manually block all countries other than Germany and Austria. )

  7. I get calls like that 2 or 3 times per week. Just don’t answer them, it’s a scam.

  9. I had the same but an automated message that Paypal was trying to reach me. 5 minutes later the Austria one tried to call too
